SpeakUp – Refund and Cancellation Policy
SpeakUp Refund and Cancellation Policy. When and how you can cancel a paid plan or request a refund on the SpeakUp speaker booking platform.
01
1. Overview
Your rights depend on the law of your country and on how you bought your plan. This Policy first sets out your statutory rights, then our additional voluntary refund offer, and then how to cancel and request a refund. Nothing in this Policy removes any right you have under mandatory consumer law that cannot be waived.
02
2. Cancellation
You can cancel a paid subscription at any time in your account settings. When you cancel, your paid plan stays active until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and then it does not renew. You can keep using the free plan after that.
03
3. Statutory Cooling-Off Rights by Region
Depending on where you live, you may have a statutory right to withdraw from your purchase within a set period. The table below summarises the main positions. It is a guide only and the law of your country prevails.
04
4. Our Voluntary 7-Day Refund
In addition to any statutory right, and regardless of where you live, we offer a voluntary refund for new paid subscriptions: if you are not satisfied, you may request a full refund within 7 days of your first payment for that subscription, provided you have not made substantial use of the paid features. This voluntary refund applies to the first purchase of a plan, not to later renewals, and does not limit any stronger statutory right you may have.
05
5. Renewals
Renewal charges are generally non-refundable once the new billing period has started, except where a statutory right applies or where required by law. To avoid being charged for a renewal, cancel before the renewal date. Where the law requires, we send renewal reminders for annual plans and provide an easy way to cancel.
06
6. Where You Purchased
All paid plans are purchased on our website and billed through Stripe, so refunds are handled by us directly under this Policy. We do not currently sell subscriptions inside the iOS or Android apps. If we introduce in-app purchases in the future, refunds for those purchases would be handled by Apple or Google under their own policies, and we would update this Policy accordingly.
07
7. Marketplace and Add-On Purchases
Paid placements and advertising in the Growth Marketplace, and event add-ons such as Event Boost and Featured Event, are generally non-refundable once the placement or promotion has gone live, because the service (visibility) begins immediately. Where a placement has not yet started, or where required by law, we will provide a refund. Statutory consumer rights, where they apply, are not affected.
08
8. Refunds We May Provide in Other Cases
We may also provide a refund, in full or in part, where a paid feature did not work as described and we could not fix it within a reasonable time, where we terminated your paid subscription for reasons other than your breach, or where the law otherwise requires. Refunds are normally made to the original payment method.
